One of only three in Missouri, the Nodaway County Freedom Rock is a permanent rock painted with a patriotic theme by artist Ray “Bubba” Sorenson II. Begun as a way to pay tribute to veterans and first responders, Maryville received the first outside of Sorenson's home state of Iowa and can be viewed in Franklin Park.
